Our Services
Nurtured Medical offers a tailored range of appointments to support women, infants and children. Our doctors and nurses all have a passion for women and young children’s healthcare and have additional specialist training to support families with infant feeding and sleep concerns.
Please note that while we offer some GP appointments and all our doctors are qualified GPs, Nurtured Medical is not a traditional GP clinic - we only offer select GP appointments, and we don’t always have the capacity to see existing patients for acute health concern or illnesses (but will fit them in whenever possible).
Home visits are available for feeding and sleep support only.
Preconception, Pregnancy and Postpartum Appointments

Our GPs, Dr Eliza, Dr Ali, Dr Melissa Dr Laavanya, Dr Aditi and Dr Hiba offer tailored pregnancy planning appointments.
This in-depth 45 minutes appointment will help you to feel informed and prepared for a future pregnancy. It includes a detailed pre-appointment questionnaire, referral for appropriate testing and individualised, holistic advice about the next steps.
Perfect for first time parents and for parents who are planning a subsequent pregnancy.

Our GPs can support you through your whole pregnancy with shared care arrangements at RPAH, Royal Hospital for Women (RHW) and Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH).
You will have routine appointments with our GPs who will follow you through your whole pregnancy and into the postpartum period; providing individual and holistic advice.
You will also have regular appointments at the hospital and will be able to access their programs and services such as physiotherapy and birth education.

Our postnatal appointments are 45- 90 minute appointments involving in-depth and holistic postnatal support for both mother (or birth parent) and baby. It is recommended to book these in for 6-8 weeks postpartum - please note that a baby’s immunisations cannot be given earlier than 6 weeks of age.
Mother/ parent:
- Mood and wellbeing (including referrals to perinatal mental health services and therapists, if required)
- Pelvic health (including referrals to local women’s health physiotherapists, if appropriate)
- Postnatal contraception
- Referral for pathology, if required, following pregnancy complications such as iron deficiency, thyroid conditions or gestational diabetes.
Baby:
- Head to toe examination (“6 week check”) and developmental check
- Review regarding feeding and sleep
- Discussion about immunisations including non-schedule vaccinations (such as meningococcal B (Bexsero))
- Administration of routine 6 week immunisations
These appointments can be booked separately if you only require postnatal check for the mother/ parent or baby (45 mins each).
We work collaboratively with local allied and complementary health practitioners that we can refer you to if required. This includes perinatal mental health services and therapists, women’s health physiotherapists, dieticians/ nutritionists and naturopaths.

Recommended in late pregnancy, Amber draws on her background as a registered nurse, postpartum doula, counsellor and Possums NDC accredited practitioner to support a smoother, more confident transition into life with your baby.
Together, we explore feeding, sleep, recovery, emotions and relationships, blending evidence-based guidance with compassionate care so you feel grounded and supported as you move into the fourth trimester and beyond.
Appointment Duration
90 minute in-clinic consultation or home visit (Sydney Inner West only) - this is a shared medical appointment, meaning that Dr Eliza or one of our other GPs will either join for part of the consultation or offer follow up via Telehealth or in our clinic; to address any medical or more complex lactation-related concerns.

Feeding Appointments

Appointment duration: 90 mins plus a 30 mins follow up appointment.
Package inclusions: There will be a thorough medical examination of your baby (including a tongue tie assessment) as well as an in-depth discussion and detailed assessment of your concerns around feeding. You will be offered hands on support and evidence-based recommendations to optimise latch and position. There will be a personalised report that includes a summary of what was discussed and a recommended plan with links to relevant resources.
After your initial appointment you will be contacted to book in your follow up appointment which can be done via Telehealth or in person.
Please note that any additional follow up appointments may incur an additional fee.

Appointment duration: 90 mins for the at home visit, plus a 30min follow up appointment with one of our GPs
Package inclusions:
Your home visit includes an in-depth discussion and detailed assessment of your concerns around feeding (including a tongue tie assessment), where they can provide hands-on support and evidence-based recommendations to optimise latch and position. After your appointment you will receive a personalised report that includes a summary of what was discussed and a recommended plan with links to relevant resources.
Your follow up appointment with one of our GPs will be booked in shortly after your initial appointment. This includes a thorough medical assessment and discussion about any concerns you may still be experiencing. This can be done via Telehealth or face to face at our Leichhardt practice.
Additional follow up appointments may incur an additional fee
Some of our GPs offer home visits on occasion however seperate fees apply for this. All of the GP’s at Nurtured Medical offer in clinic or Telehealth feeding support.
Please note: this shared care feeding support option can also be offered entirely at our Leichhardt clinic.

Appointment duration: 60 mins, plus a 30 min follow up appointment
Appointment inclusions: Your video telehealth appointment includes detailed history taking and where possible, observation of a feed with real-time advice to help optimise latch and position (ideally requires another adult to hold device camera). After the appointment you will receive a personalised report that includes a summary of what was discussed and a recommended plan with links to relevant resources. You will be contacted to book in a 30min follow up telehealth consultation for the weeks that follow.
Additional follow up appointments may incur an additional fee

*Please note that most issues will require a detailed (longer) appointment. These appointments are more appropriate for older babies or simpler issues; for example, to discuss starting day care, transition to solids, weaning, advice about bottle feeding etc. These appointments are conducted in practice or via Telehealth.
Appointment duration: 30 mins
Appointment inclusions: Your appointment includes detailed history taking and if relevant, an examination of your baby. If you have selected Telehealth the examination will occur through the camera where possible.
There is no report or follow up included in this appointment fee.

Appointment Duration: 60min
These appointments are recommended for late in pregnancy (third trimester), as you’re approaching birth, breastfeeding and the postpartum.
In these one-on-one appointments, we provide tailored education and advice to help you to feel informed, prepared and empowered. You have the option to have this appointment at our Leichhardt clinic, via Telehealth or in the comfort of your home, where you’ll be feeding and caring for your newborn after the birth.
All breastfeeding education appointments include a written summary of what we discussed and links to relevant resources. During our sessions, we can also book in a postnatal lactation support home visit for after your baby is due, so that you have the peace of mind knowing that additional support is arranged, should you need it after birth.
Appointment inclusions:
Discussion about your medical history, previous feeding experience and your questions, concerns and goals around feeding.
Examination of breasts and nipples, and if appropriate, assistance with hand expression of colostrum
Education about breastmilk production, what to expect in the early days and weeks after birth and how to optimise latch and position
Overview of common early breastfeeding difficulties including supply issues, infant weight concerns and nipple pain and trauma.
Education about normal newborn behaviour and sleep, including education about safe bed sharing
Brief discussion of postpartum planning and how it can help to optimise successful feeding and your postpartum recovery

Nurtured Medical offers additional 30 minute follow up appointments via Telehealth or at our Leichardt clinic. This is for further follow up after recent feeding support consult eg. for a weight check or review of the feeding plan - not for new issues/ concerns, please.
Please note that at this stage, in clinic follow up is only available in Leichhardt.
Sleep Appointments

This package provides in-depth, individualised support with your little one’s sleep, with the reassurance of a detailed written management plan and follow up in the practice or via video Telehealth. Let us guide you through an evidence – based alternative to sleep training, following a Possums and co approach
Appointment duration: Initial appointment 90mins | Follow up appointment 30mins
Package inclusions:
Your initital appointment includes a thorough medical examination of your baby (to assess for a medical condition as a cause for sleep disruption) and an in depth discussion about your concerns. After the appointment you will receive a personalised report that includes a summary of what we discussed, our recommended plan and links to relevant resources.
Package also includes a single follow up via email, Telehealth or in our practice.
Additional follow up video telehealth consultations will incur an additional small out of pocket fee

Home Visit Sleep Support Package – Shared Medical Appointment with Holly or Amber ( both registered nurses, and Possum NDC trained practitioner) and one of our perinatal GPs.
This package provides in-depth, individualised support for your little one’s sleep, all from the comfort of your home. Let us guide you through an evidence based alternative to sleep training following a Possums and co approach. You will receive a detailed written management plan and be booked in for a follow up appointment with one of our perinatal GPs.
Visit duration: 90 mins (plus a 30min follow up appointment with a GP)
Package inclusions:
Your home visit with Holly/ Amber includes an in-depth discussion and detailed assessment of your concerns around sleep and recommendations to support you from a Possums and co. approach. You will receive a personalised report that includes a summary of what was discussed, the recommended plan and links to relevant resources.
Your follow up appointment with a GP will be booked in after your home visit and includes a thorough medical examination of your baby (to assess for a medical condition as a cause for sleep disruption if necessary) and an in-depth discussion about your concerns and other related questions you might have. This can be done via Telehealth or face to face at our Leichhardt practice.
Additional follow up consultations will incur an out of pocket fee.
Please note: this shared care sleep support option can also be offered entirely at our Leichhardt clinic.
Our GPs offers home visits on occasion (increased fee applies) and all of the GP’s at Nurtured Medical offer in clinic or Telehealth sleep support.

This in -depth package is the Telehealth equivalent of the other in-depth packages. It combines individualised and thorough support with the flexibility and convenience of Telehealth.
Appointment duration: 60 mins
Package inclusions: Your video telehealth appointment includes detailed history taking and if relevant, “examination” of your baby through the camera. After the appointment you will receive a personalised report that includes a summary of what we discussed, my recommended plan and links to relevant resources.
Package also includes a single follow up via email, Telehealth or in our practice.
Additional out of pocket fee applies for follow up if baby >12 months
GP Appointments

Appointments involve
As assessment of your infant/ child’s development, feeding and wellbeing

Administration of immunisations according to immunisation schedule: 6 weeks | 4 months | 6 months | 12 months | 18 months
Discussion regarding additional (non schedule) immunisations such as varicella and meningococcal B (bexsero), which can also be administered at our clinic.

Our GPs are here to support you with any Perinatal and Women’s Mental Health concerns.
They offer tailored Mental Health consults over Telehealth and in person at the Leichhardt clinic.
Our practices are linked with local psychologists in the Inner West and on the Northern Beaches who specialise in Women’s Health and Perinatal Mental Health.

Our nurse Holly can provide iron infusions at our Leichhardt clinic in conjunction with Dr Eliza/ Dr Laavanya/ Dr Aditi. These are for the treatment of significant iron deficiency that is not responding to first line treatment.
Please note that you will require a brief appointment prior to the infusion to discuss your iron deficiency and the need for further investigations, as well as to discuss the procedure and provide a prescription.
